The history of planting narcissus is more than five-hundred years in Zhangzhou. The main production areas are Xiaomeixietc, near Yuanshan, Jiuhu in the suburbs of Zhangzhou. The distinctive natrual conditions make it become the most famous narcissus producing base in China. Tts yield account for more than 90 percent of the total yield of China. Furthermore, Zhangzhou narcissus is different from those in other places. Its flower-twig ranked in good order, it can be carved into potted natural shape animal or plant shapes, and stone shape, which are known as "silent poem, tridimensional picture."         In recent years, the narcissus planting area in Zhangzhou is 500 heatares, the whole value of output is more than one hundred million RMB. More than 3 million grains are exported every year.         It is pleasantly surprised that the narcissus' species in Zhangzhou develop toward diversify. At present, a new species "Golden Delta" has been developed, and red and yellow narcissus species have been introduced successfully from France.
